Chandrel is a 1993 graduate of Berea College in Berea, Kentucky and holds a Masters degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She has been with The Harbert Center since June 2000.

Jessica Plemons

Jessica was born and raised in Birmingham, but has also called Tuscaloosa and New Orleans home. She has been in the hospitality industry for nearly 20 years, and has loved every minute of it!
Jessica has been with The Harbert Center since January 2008, and says what she enjoys most about this job is that it never gets old; each day is a new and different experience! She has a B.S. in Restaurant, Hotel, and Meetings Management from the University of Alabama.

Alexis Williams
Event Sales Manager
Alexis is the newest addition to The Harbert Center Crew. She is a Birmingham local, who graduated from University of Alabama and interned at Walt Disney World’s All Star Music Resort. Alexis took advantage of her time in Tuscaloosa by working with the Crimson Tide Hospitality program. She was assigned to work with the catering staff in Bryant Denny Stadium, Southern Foodservice, which is the same catering staff she works with today at The Harbert Center. She also has a passion and love for animals, as she herself is a dog mom.
Alexis has been with The Harbert Center since 2021 and says what she enjoys most about this job is all the amazing people she gets to meet with every new group that comes in. She has a B.S in Human Environmental Studies with her focus on Restaurant and Hospitality Management.

Eric Horst
Operations Manager & A/V Coordinator

Eric is the definition of a ‘jack-of-all-trades’! His background and knowledge of audio visual systems brought him to The Harbert Center, but we soon realized that was not his only area of expertise. Eric is also a pastor, entrepreneur, salesman, and a musician. Other notable past endeavors include baling hay, parking cars at a flea market, and working at a popcorn factory.
Eric has been at The Harbert Center since 2014, and says what he enjoys most is helping clients have as stress-free of an event as possible, and ensuring their guests have a memorable experience. He has an A.A. in Bible from Hesston College in Kansas, and a B.S. in Christian Ministries and Youth Ministry from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA.
Freddie Campbell Mitchell
Event Services Team Coordinator
One of the most frequent comments we hear is how clean and well kept The Harbert Center is, and we have Freddie to thank for that! She leads the Event Services Team, which is responsible not only for the upkeep of the building, but also the set up and breakdown for all events.
Freddie has been with The Harbert Center since August 2006, and what she has enjoyed most about the job is meeting new people every day. She has a degree in paralegal law from Faulkner University.
TaMarcus Williams
Event Services Team Leader
TaMarcus is the ‘muscle’ of The Harbert Center, as he leads his crew during the set up and breakdown of our event spaces, often multiple times a day. TaMarcus has been with The Harbert Center since April 2012.
